Inglewood Commercial Real Estate
Inglewood, California has a long storied past. Before it was known as Inglewood, the area was used as a home and migration area for Native Americans. Eventually, the Spanish empire came and took over the area and Inglewood was granted to Jose Manuel Orchado Machado. Jose farmed the land and built the first adobe buildings in the area. Years later the land turned into a thriving community within Los Angeles. In the early 20th century, Inglewood was a hotspot for the Ku Klux Klan and in 1922 there were 37 clan members arrested and released for the murder of an Inglewood police officer. This event led to the State of California banning the Clan from existing in any form. This did not alleviate the racial tension within Inglewood and by the mid 1980s the white population had left. By 1990 the population was mainly Black(47%) and Latino(46%), and by 2000 the population was mainly Latino(52.5%) and Black(41%). As of February 2015, the city council of Inglewood has approved plans to build an NFL stadium for the Los Angeles Rams in the development area that was once Hollywood Park Race Track. This would put an NFL stadium next to the world famous Forum.
